06 CHURCH OF SAINT SAVIOUR Prizren.

Site description
Late Byzantine style. One-aisled domed church, cross vaulted pronaos.
Walls from an unfinished newer church form the church yard. Remains of wall paintings.
Built in theXIV c. the walls of the newer church were added in the XIX c. Listed monument.

2004-Damage Assessment

- Older church: Interior damaged, internal surfaces, wall paintings, floor and wooden doors and windows affected by fire. Exterior in good condition.
- Newer church walls: soiled by smoke, unstable upper sections, doors and windows affected by fire, bell tower in unstable condition.

- Cleaning
- Repair of the wall tops to the newer church and cleaning of stonework
- Replacement of damaged timber doors and metallic windows
- Construction of a new fence and gates
- New roof construction and metallic covering to the belfry
