07 OLD CHURCH OF ST GEORGE (RUNOVIC’S CHURCH)Prizren.

Site description Late Byzantine style. Small one aisled church with barrel vault. Rich wall paintings. In the complex of the Episcopal Church of St George (no. 04) . Built in the XIV-XVI centuries. Protected monument.
2004-Damage Assessment	Interior damaged by explosion and fire, visible cracks, wall paintings largely affected, stone floors in bad condition, burnt doors and windows, desecrated tomb. External stonework affected by fire and smoke. The lead roof cover was stolen in 2005 and again in 2006.
2005-Protective Interventions	Cleanup operation with recovery of sensitive material. Re-roofing with lead. Stonework cleaning. Temporary soft wood doors and windows. Protective covering of the floor and tombstone inside the church.
2006-RECONSTRUCTION WORKS	Clearance and dismantling of damaged elements. Repair of internal render. Stonework repairs and cleaning. Electrical installation. Lead roof installed. New joinery.
2007-RECONSTRUCTION WORKS	Archaeological strategy prepared.
2008-RECONSTRUCTION WORKS	No interventions carried out.
2009-FURTHER INTERVENTIONS PROGRAMMED	Specialist floor leveling. Wall paintings restoration. Archaeological assessment.
